Knee Type Disconnectors

The horizontal break knee type disconnector consists of three poles. Each pole consists of a base, one rotating insulator and two support insulators on which the main blade is mounted.

Used in various applications, these disconnectors offer robust performance for secure circuit isolation.

INSTALALTION:

The disconnectors and earthing switches are preassembled and adjusted at works, as complete as possible. The construction is designed so that all disconnectors can be installed and adjusted at site very easily, without the need of any special tools. Clear instruction manual and assembly drawing provided to ensure hassle free installation.

MAINTENANCE:

SGear Disconnectors are virtually maintenance free. However to ensure a long and trouble free service period, a visual inspection of contacts and bearing points can be carried out at intervals

MAIN CONTACT:

The main blades is made of 2 aluminum tubes with a hinge in the middle and have silver-plated copper contacts at the jaw end. During closing of disconnector, the main blade makes a horizontal stretching movement; Full contact pressure of the main contacts achieved by full stretching of the main blade.

The fixed contact is of the "reverse loop" design with stainless steel springs to ensure reliable contact pressure, which makes them suitable for very high short circuit currents and its self wiping by which the disconnector suitable for installation in areas with severe climatic condition. All rotary contacts are shielded from the natural elements through encased silver plated contact balls.

The dead center interlocking of operating mechanisms ensures there are no inadvertent changes in the open or close switching position even under extreme external conditions such as storms, earthquakes etc.
